Mangaluru: Notorious criminal attacks cops during arrest

Mangaluru, May 29 2019: Police who had   been to arrest a notorious criminal named Ummar Farooq had to open fire before arresting him when the latter attacked the police team leaving a constable injured at Pachanady during the early hours of May 28, Wednesday.

 

Both Ummar and the constable Sandeep who are injured have been hospitalised.

Police said Ummar was  wanted in several cases including a case of hatching a plot to eliminate Sameer who  is accused in  the murder of Target Ilyas. Incidentally, Ummar is the brother-in-law of Target Ilyas.
