Mangaluru: National Library Week inaugurated

Mangaluru, Nov 18, 2014:  The Children’s Library Section, Senior Library Section and Computer Section  of the City Central Library were inaugurated to coincide with the inaugural of the National Library Week on November 17, Monday. Mayor Mahabala Maarla declared open the weeklong celebrations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The three sections were inaugurated by Mahabala Maarla,  KG Bhat, a senior citizen, and Kavitha, Deputy Mayor respectively.

In his address, the Mayor exhorted children  to evince interest in reading books which go a long way in enhancing knowledge. He also stated that the children’s section of the library has a collection of 15000 books while there are in all nearly 84,000 books in the City Central Library. The new computer section is beneficial for those who want to browse the net for reading news, the Mayor informed.

Gayatri, Officer of City Central Library,  AC Vinayraj, Poornima, K Mohammad, Corporators and others were present.
