Mangaluru, Aug 31, 2015: Family Court Judge Bailur Shanker Rama  flagged off the Legal Literacy Chariot at the District Court premises at Kodialbail in the city on August 31, Monday. He also inaugurated the Mobile Lok Adalat on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Shanker Rama said  the Legal Literacy Chariot aims at creating awareness  in the society regarding  laws pertaining to women and child welfare, Motor Vehicle Act etc. All out efforts are being made to ensure that awareness is created in all sections of the society, he added.

Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim urged the people to make the best use of the Legal Literacy Chariot. The DC also deplored the fact that   several acts like RTI have been misused  and urged youth to have knowledge about legal aspects.
S P Chengappa, President of Mangaluru Bar Association who also spoke said Mobile Lok Adalats go a long way in settling disputes amicably instead of going in for the litigations.

Khader Shah, Information Officer, Ganesh B, Senior Civil Judge were present among others.
