Mangaluru: Man gets lifer for murdering wife

Mangaluru, April 09, 2024: The  Sixth Additional District and Sessions Court of Mangaluru has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing his wife at their rented house at Kavoor four years ago.

 

The convict is Ganesh Kumar (46). He hails from Arakalagudu in Hassan. Ganesh was reportedly torturing his wife daily. On July 1, 2020 evening he took his wife along with him in his bike and at around 7 pm, he strangulated her and pushed her from an elevated area near a quarry. He had later even threatened his wife’s mother.

Kavoor Inspector Raghava S had filed a chargesheet. The court which heard the case had pronounced Ganesh guilty and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on him apart from sentencing him for life. The court has also recommended the District Legal Services Authority to provide compensation to the affected persons in this case.
