Mangaluru : Mahila Congress holds cycle jatha, bullock cart protest against fuel price hike

Mangaluru, Feb 03, 2018:  The  DK District Mahila Congress staged a unique bullock cart protest and cycle jatha on February 3,  Saturday to protest against the  fuel price hike and the ’anti-people’ policies of the Union Government.

The cycle jatha   from Ambedkar Circle to DC office was inaugurated by sandalwood actress Bhavana and MLA J R Lobo.

 Speaking on the occasion, Lobo said the Union Government was increasing fuel prices despite reduction in oil prices in international market. The BJP which had protested when UPA government had hiked fuel price at a time when oil prices in international market was 140 dollar, is silent now, he alleged.

Mayor Kavitha Sanil, District Mahila Congress President Shalet Pinto, ZP member Mamatha Gatti and others  were present.
