Mangaluru, Nov 14, 2015: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has said that he would pressurise the Union Government to order a CBI probe into the case of murder of Harish at BC Road on November 12, Thursday evening in case the party finds that the state government was trying to mislead the ongoing investigation into the case.
Speaking to reporters he also charged the Congers government in the state of trying to twist facts pertaining to the case. He further blamed the Congress for the incident.
Senior Congress leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat said the Sangh Parivar would try to raise Rs 10 lakhs to be handed over to the poor family of Harish. Criticising the Congress government for going ahead with Tipu Jayanthi, Bhat said that he fervently hoped that the Congress government would not hold any programmes that result in tension between different communities.
G Anand, President of Bantwal Block BJP Committee who also addressed the press meet warned that the BJP would intensify its demand for a thorough probe if the accused in the Harish murder case were not arrested within 48 hours.
A Rukmaya Poojary, former MLA wanted to know how the authorities permitted a meeting in Bantwal on the day the murder took place and why no case was registered against the meeting organisers.
A Govind Prabhu, Councillor of Bantwal, Rajesh Naik Ulipadiguttu, Padmanabha Kottary and other BJP leaders were present.
