Mangaluru: Kids observe World Earth Day meaningfully

Mangaluru, April 22, 2015: In view of creating awareness among general public, especially the children, Centre for Integrated Learning (CIL) in association with Big Bazar of Future Group, FBB and Team Prithvi meaningfully observed the World Earth Day on Wednesday by holding a march and planting a sapling at an abandoned park in the city.

While Big Bazar took up the project as a CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility) activity, CIL has been conducting projects of the kind to kindle social awareness among children.

The teams assembled at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) campus in Kodialbail and marched till the abandoned park in Karangalpady where a sapling was planted symbolically to urge the city corporation to rejuvenate the parks and lung spaces in the city.

CIL students, Thanvi and Aparna spoke about the importance of the day while Store Manager of Big Bazar, Mangalore, Nikhil Kumtakar highlighted various activities undertaken by the company for public causes. Converner of Centre for Integrated Learning, Srinivasan Nandagopal exhorted the children and youth to take the issue of environmental safety seriously and involve in activities that will enable safer environment for a longer life of Mother Earth.

Coordinator – Projects of CIL, Navin A D, Vinod D’Souza, Avelyn Sequeira, Sagar B S, Henita Lobo among others were present on the occasion.
