Mangaluru : Karmika Samman Awards presented to 13 outstanding workers

Mangaluru, Mar 01, 2019: Thirteen outstanding workers who have been rendering yeoman service and have made significant achievements in various labour sectors were conferred the Karmika Samman Awards at a function held at Town Hall here on March 1, Friday.

The function was held under the joint aegis of the DK District Administration, Labour Department, Karnataka State Unorganised Labourers Social Security Board and Karnataka State Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

Achievers namely Sujatha Jogi, Babu Moolya, Raghava Achari, Padmanabha, Jayanthi, Somanna Achari, Devendra Naik, Praveen, Francis, Sudhaker, Krishnappa, C K Ashok Kumar were presented with the Awards by DK District in-charge Minister U T Khader. The Award carries a  cash prize of Rs 10,000 apart from a citation.  A total of 170 outstanding labourers were honoured by presenting cash prize of Rs 1000 each.

Assistant Labour Commissioner K B Nagaraj, Labour Officer Wilma Elizabeth Tauro and others were present.
