Mangaluru : "Kaige Banda Thuthu" by ex-DGP Guruprasad released

Mangaluru, Dec 11, 2017: A book entitled "Kaige Banda Thuthu’’ authored by  retired director general of police Dr D V Guruprasad was released by eminent scholar Na Damodar Shetty at a function held at the City Police  Commissioner’s office on December 10, Sunday. The function was also marked by an interaction on Crimes  of the Past and Present.

Speaking on the occasion  former  police officer G A Bava who is also a Congress leader said  political interference was affecting the functioning of the Police Department.

Speaking on the occasion, Guruprasad said  human intelligence still plays a pivotal role in cracking criminal  cases, though the advent of modern technology too helped in a great extent.

Another retired police officer Jayanth Shetty who also spoke said  the rise in use of technology has also led to a spurt in crimes.

Harischandra, also a retired police officer, said police personnel should be cautious  and keep the identity of police informers a secret.

City Police Commissioner T R  Suresh,   State Retired Police Officers Association President Pemmayya, District unit president Mitra Heraje and others were present.
