Mangaluru: Jewellers take out protest march opposing excise duty

Mangalore Mar 10, 2016: SK District Swarna Vyapari Sangha took out a protest march on March 10, Thursday from Hotel Navaratna Palace to protest against the government  decision to levy of 1% excise duty and 1% TCS (Tax Collection at Source). They are also opposing  compulsory PAN card requirements for sales exceeding two lakhs.

As many as 500 jewelers from Mangaluru, Udupi, Puttur, Bantwal and other neighboring places, employees of jewellery firms as well as goldsmiths participated in the jatha.
