Mangaluru : Hundreds participated in kidney Awareness Rally

Mangaluru, Jan 14, 2015:  A Kidney Awareness rally with the theme ‘Saving Kidney Serving Nation” was taken out from Ambedkar Circle to Nehru Maidan in the city on January 13, Tuesday.  Students from various nursing colleges including SCS College of Nursing, Unity Academy of Nursing, Yenepoya Nursing College and Karavali Pharmaceutical and Nursing College participated in the rally which was flagged off by MP  Nalin Kumar Kateel. The rally was organised by the Mangalore Nephro-Urology Charitable Trust in association with different nursing colleges and NGOs as part of a  month long kidney health campaign.

 

 

Speaking at a formal function held in this connection at Nehru Maidan, MLC Ivan D’Souza  stressed the need for greater awareness among the  masses on various kidney ailments. S Ganesh Rao of Karavali Group of institutions, Mahabala Maarla, Mayor, Dr Mohammad Saleem and others were present.

The valedictory of the Kidney Health Campaign will be held on March 12 when World Kidney Day will be observed.

Kidney awareness rallies were also taken out in Sullia, Belthangady, Puttur and Bantwal.
