Mangaluru: Hi-tech Prostitution racket busted

Mangaluru July 22, 2016: Pandeshwar Police busted out hi-tech prostitution racket and detained one person at Surya Lodge near Hampankatta Bus Stand on 21st July, informed Mangaluru Police Commissioner M Chandrashekar in a press meet in his office today July 22, Friday.

 

 

The arrested has been identified as Shabari alias Vikram (26) resident of Kadugodu in Bengaluru.

He also said that,  accused used the website “LOCANTO” through which he was frequently used to get in touch with the customers to share information about the girls.

Accused was a cook by profession and involved in prostitution racket in Mangaluru and Benglauru. He used to attend functions and marriages to trap girls and dragged them to prostitution. Search is on for another accused Manjunath and other two women, said M Chandrashekar.

M Chandrashekar ensured to take necessary steps to prevent such illegal sites.

Speaking about Dabak Daba Aisa movie leak he said that, police is been enquiring this piracy racket Piracy is also the biggest illegal activity next to human trafficking and drugs.

Three persons have been detained under goonda act in 2015, while nine persons have been detained under goonda act in 2016, out of which four person have been upheld by advisory board for the detention and other four have been detained. Gamblers and drug offenders will be ambit under Goonda act.

DCP’s Shantharaju, Dr Sanjeev M Patil were present.
