Mangaluru: Government schemes need to be utilized says Rajiv Prathap Rudi

Mangaluru Aug 15, 2016: Minister for Skill development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudi said that, government is providing friendly schemes for the people for the purpose of development and youths need to actively participate and utilize such opportunities.

He was speaking at the 70th Independence Day celebration at TV Ramana Pai Hall today August 15 Monday.

He also said that, today women are neglected and less importance is given to them. “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” scheme is implemented in order to save the girl child and make them educated and women should be treated equal to men in any field.

Rudy said that in a country like India where there are 18 lac engineering seats, over nine lakh seats are not taken. This shows that professional course of degree.

Speaking about various steps taken by the government, he said that industries in the country can tie up with National Skills Development Corporation and become partners in training. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill development.

The intention of this programme is large number of youth could take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. This is approved for another four years (2016-20) to benefit 10 million youths and the allocated budget is Rs. 12,000 crores.

We should work for the purpose of country’s development, there are lot of places where there is no electricity and need to overcome such issues and we are trying at the faster level in providing electricity in remote areas, he added.
