Mangaluru, July 25, 2016: Each and every one in the society has the onerous responsibility of upholding the customs and traditions while also giving equal importance to education, said Sri Vidyadhiraja Theertha Swamiji, Pontiff of Gokarna Parthagali Mutt.
The Swamiji was speaking prior to his commencement of his Suvarna Chaturmasa Vritha on Durmukhi Nama Samvatsara falling on Ashada Bahula Panchami on Sunday at the Sri Gokarna Mutt at Carstreet .
Panchamruthabhisheka and Dwadasha Kalashabhisheka were offered to the Lord on the occasion. The Pooja in the afternoon was followed by Prasada distribution.
A function was held in the evening upon conclusion of Mrithika Pooja. Prabhaker Kamath couple offered Pada Pooja to the swamiji. Puttu Hanumanth Pai and Anil Pai spoke on the Mutt tradition and the service initiatives of the Swamiji.
Kumble Narasimha Prabhu, Uppinangady Jayakar Bhat, Konchady Dinaker Shenoy, Basti Purushottam Shenoy, Amarnath Kamath, Basti Sripad Shenoy, RR Kamath, Ammembal Shivananda Kamath, GS Kamath Bhayi Nayak, Sanjay Raithukar and others were present. Various programmes like Yoga camp, home remedies, camp, Bhagavatha Sapthaha, blood donation camp, career guidance for SSLC and PUC students, bhajans, Sankeerthan, cleanliness drive under Swachha Bharath etc will be held to mark the occasion.
The Swamiji will be delivering discourses every Saturday and Sunday evening.
The Chaturmasa Vritha of the Swamiji will be held till September 16.
