Mangaluru : Gandhi-150 Chintana Yatra commences from Brahma Baidarkala Garadi

Mangaluru, Oct 02, 2019 : The "Gandhi-150 Chintana Yatre"  organised by several progressive organisations  to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi commenced   from the Brahma Baidarkala Garadi at Kankanady after offering a special pooja at the Mahatma Gandhi Gudi  at the shrine.

 

 

 

 

 

The logo of the Chintana Yatre was  released by senior scholar Prof. B M Ichlangodu on the occasion. Former Deputy Commissioner  Sasikanth Senthil, Brahma Baidarkala Garadi President K Chittaranjan,  Organisers Dr Srinivas Kakkillaya,  Gulabi Bilimale, Rajaram Tholpady, Mohan Chandra, Nagesh Kallur and others were present.

The Yatra will travel throughout the district from today till Martyrs Day on October 30. Various events like elocution, essay, painting contests, lectures, plays and singing programmes in schools and colleges will be held as part of the Yatra.
