Mangaluru: Foundation laid for bridge-cum-barrage at Harekala

Mangaluru, March 22, 2020:  Mangaluru MLA and former minister U T Khader, on March 21, Saturday laid the foundation for the bridge-cum-barrage (salt water exclusion dam)  across Netravathi river near Harekala Kadavu. The project will be taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 174 crores.

The dam when complete will ensure adequate water supply to the region and also will fulfil a long standing demand for a road for light vehicles from Harekala to Adyar. Khader said the project would be completed within two years.

Former minister Ramanatha Rai, former MLA B A Moidin Bava, Akshara Santha, Padma Shree Awardee  Harekala Hajabba, Mangaluru TP Chief Mohammad Monu and others were present.
