Mangaluru: Electrical contractor hacked to death at Kodialbail

Mangaluru, March 21, 2016 :  In a shocking murder reported on the morning of March 21, Monday, some unidentified assailants have hacked an electrical contractor to death while he was jogging   at PVS Kalakunj Road at Kodialbail.

The deceased is Vinayak Panduranga Baliga (51). It is learnt at around 5.30 am, Baliga who was jogging was attacked from behind with machetes by the assailants who soon  took to their heels.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But as some blood stains were found near his scooter which was parked nearby, it is not yet clear if he was  riding his scooter or was  jogging while he was attacked.

Baliga who was spotted lying in a pool of blood by some passersby was rushed to the hospital, but of no avail. Baliga was an RTI activist. He had filed  many cases against builders and some religious institutions. However,  the motive behind the murder is not yet known.


A case has been registered by the Barke police. The motive of the attackers is not known.
