Mangaluru : Drunk cop beaten up by public for misbehaving with girls at a mall

Mangaluru, Jan 15, 2016:  A constable attached to the Urwa police station was caught hold of by public and thrashed for reportedly abusing and misbehaving with five girls at the Forum Fiza Mall at Pandeshwar on January 14, Thursday. The cop who  was not in uniform was allegedly drunk.

 

The accused has been identified as  Sadashiva. It is learnt, he was stalking a minor girl who was one among the group of five girls who were at the mall. The public who noticed his behaviour thrashed him and handed over to Pandeshwar  police.

The minor girl has lodged a complaint against him later on and he has been booked under POCSO Act and also under  Section 354 and 509 of IPC.

It has been gathered that  Sadashiva  who was earlier working in Kadri station was transferred to Urwa following several  complaints of corruption against him. Sources also revealed that he had three wives and  his wives had even complained against him with the Commissioner on several occasions.

The accused cop has been subject to medical examination at Wenlock Hospital.
