Mangaluru:Dead insect found in biscuit packet

Mangaluru, July 25, 2015 :  A dead insect was recently found  by a consumer from Mangaluru in a Horlicks Biscuit packet of 100 grams manufactured by Parsons Nutritionals Pvt Ltd in Ramanagara.

The consumer on finding the insect had  taken a photograph and video  and had complained to the  Joint Director, Food Safety, in Bengaluru  who in turn had forwarded the complaint to  Senior Food Safety Officer Raju H.P. of  Mangaluru.

The biscuits were then sent to the Divisional Food Laboratory in Mysuru for lab tests. The report received on July 17 said that the sample of Batch  No. 05KKB1P3 was “not fit for human consumption”.

The consumer can use this report to move the Consumer Court seeking justice.
