Mangaluru : Dasara Sports meet 2016 inaugurated

Mangaluru Sep 10, 2016: Chief Whip of Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza inaugurated Dakshina Kannada District level Dasara Sports meet 2016 at Mangala Stadium today September 10, Saturday. This event is jointly organized by District Administration and Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath.

Speaking on the occasion, Ivan D’Souza said that  children in rural areas need to be encouraged in the sports field. Schools and colleges  too should give equal encouragement to sports as part of their extra curricular activities, he added.

Students from Sullia, Belthangady, Bantwal, Puttur and Mangaluru taluks are participating in the event.

MLA JR Lobo, Deputy Commissioner  Jagadeesh, ADC Kumar and others were present.
