Addressing the protestors, Prof. Narendra Nayak, President of Federation of Indian Rationalists Associations said terrorising people in the name of beef was not acceptable. He described such moves as a conspiracy aimed at leaving Dalit children malnourished.

Prof. Nayak further stated that the poor have to depend on meat for proteins in this age when prices of food grains have shot up. However, when the poor want to consume beef, so called vigilantes create problems for them, he alleged.

On the statement of Dayashanker Singh regarding Mayawati, Prof. Nayak said it revealed his party’s mindset towards   not only Mayawati but all Dalit women.

M Devadas, State Convenor of Dalita Sangharsha Samithi blamed the BJP and the right wing organisations of pursuing double standards.

PV Mohan, AICC Member, Santosh Kumar Bajal, District Secretary of DYFI, Dayanand Shetty, Corporator, Gopal Muttur, District President of BSP and others were present.

Earlier, a protest march was taken out from Ambedkar Circle   to the protest venue.
