Mangaluru: DK delegation to meet Union ministers on Yettinahole - MP Kateel

Mangaluru, Nov 05, 2015: Addressing media in Mangaluru on Nov 4,  MP Nalin Kumar Kateel urged the State government to invite experts from the district while carrying out discussion on Yettinahole project.

He declared that a delegation led by Member of Parliament Nalin Kumar Kateel and representatives of various organisations, will meet the Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti and Union Minister for Environment Prakash Javadekar, before the end of November and request them not to provide funds for the Yettinahole project.

Though the Central government can not interfere in the projects implemented by the State, the delegation will impress upon the respective ministries not to provide funds for the project as it is proved illegal.

MP Kateel demanded that if the State government has filed its objections to the Kasturirangan report to the Centre, then it should disclose the details of the report.   Complaining that the State government has completely failed in maintaining the law and order situation in the district and murders have become the order of the day here.

Condemning chief minister’s remark on eating beef, Kateel said that the CM has hurt the feelings of the majority of people. Though the chief minister is free to eat what he wishes, he should not issue such statements sitting in a responsible position. He should remember that he is the Chief Minister for the entire State and not just ’Ahinda’.

Protest on November 9 :

MP Kateel said that the district unit of BJP will stage a dharna in front of Dr B R Ambedkar’s statue at Town Hall in Mangaluru on November 9, from 9 am till evening, to protest Yettinahole project and to condemn the collapse of law and order situation in the state.  BJP district unit president Pratap Simha Nayak said that the BJP will organise Jana Sankalpa Yatra from November 13 to 22, to create awareness among public on the failures of the state government.

The yatra will be flagged-off at Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple and will conclude at Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple. On the way, public meetings will be held at 35 centres of the district.
