Mangaluru : DK Mahila Cong protests against Modi govt’s policies

Mangaluru, May 26, 2018: The District Mahila Congress staged a protest in front of the DCC office at Mallikatta here on May 26, Saturday to protest against the ’anti-people’ policies of the Modi led government at the Centre and also to oppose the soaring prices of fuel.

Speaking on the occasion, District Mahila Congress president Shalet Pinto said the BJP which had staged protests when fuel prices were hiked during the previous UPA rule, has now fallen silent even when the prices have sky-rocketed.

People have been hit hard due to Modi Government policies, she said. Shalet also criticised the Beti Bachao Beti Padao scheme of the Union Government and said it was nothing but a joke at a time when girls are highly unsafe in the country.

Former minister UT Khader who also spoke, said Modi who used to describe himself as the Chowkidar has however not done anything when Indian soldiers were killed by Pakistan.

DCC Chief Harish Kumar, Mamatha Gatti, Corporators Nagaveni, Appi, Sabitha Misquith and others were present.
