Mangaluru: DK BJP stages protest against ’failure’ of state govt

Mangaluru, Nov 9, 2015: The DK District unit of the BJP staged a protest in front of the BR Ambedkar statue opposite Town Hall on November 9, Monday to condemn the deteriorating  law and order scenario in the state and also to demand the resignation of Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya who is in the eye of a storm ever since   a bribery scam involving his wife stood exposed.

Addressing the protestors, Pratap Simha Nayak, District BJP President  said violence was increasing in the district with the passing of each day. He accused the DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai of remaining in a state of slumber despite there being unabated illegal sand mining and wood smuggling.

He said the BJP has planned to hold rallies from November 15 to sensitize the people  on the failure of the state government.

Party leader Ravishanker Mijar lambasted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for deciding to continue the Yettinahole project despite widespread opposition. He also urged the CM To drop Anjaneya from the state cabinet.

Party leaders including former minister Krishna Palemar, former MLA Yogish Bhat, MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik and others were present.
