Mangaluru: Customs officials foil gold smuggling worth 27 lac at MIA

Mangaluru, Dec 4, 2014: The officers of Customs at Mangalore International Airport , on Wednesday , Dec 3 seized gold brought in the form of silver paint coated suitcase handle buckle holders, ladies handbag buckles and jeans trouser buttons, totally weighing 1033 grams, valued at Rs.27,27,120/-, all of which were kept in a Trolley suitcase, brought as checked in baggage carried by a passenger, who arrived from Dubai. 

 

 

The passenger Abdul Gaffoor Kadappuram, aged about 44 years, a resident of Kanhangad in  Kasargod district, who arrived at Mangalore International Airport on 3rd December 2014 at 8.10 hrs by Jet Airways flight 9W531 from Dubai.
