Mangaluru : Congress protests against detention of Priyanka Gandhi in Uttar Pradesh

Mangaluru, July 20, 2019: Several Congress leaders and workers under the aegis of the District Congress Committee staged a protest in front of the party office here  on July 20, Saturday to condemn the  action of the Uttar Pradesh government in detaining AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi  Vadra who is in the state to meet the families of the victims of the Sonbhadra shooting case.

Addressing the protestors, former minister  Ramanatha Rai accused the Uttar Pradesh Government of misusing power to detain Priyanka who wished to meet the families of the victims and console them. The BJP men are making a mockery of democracy, he alleged.

DCC Chief Harish Kumar, former minister Abhayachandra Jain, party leaders Naveen D’Souza, T K Sudhir, Vishwas Kumar Das and others were present.
