Speaking to reporters at the Congress Office here on August 19, Wednesday,  he questioned why the government wants to go ahead with NSA level talks when Pakistan was leaving no stone unturned to humiliate India  and provoke it.

He was also highly critical about the midnight operation at FTII Pune wherein five students were arrested for protests against appointment of a new Chairman. There is a need for progressive and liberal forces to come together to protect the democratic  fabric of the nation, he added.

To a question , he ridiculed the missed call campaign of the BJP and dubbed it as a missed call party. The Prime Minister who is now failing to evoke sympathy  in India is travelling overseas, he said.

On the government programmes, he stated that not even a single new programme has been introduced since the  past  few months and  even the Niti Ayog formed in place of Planning Commission has  failed to achieve anything.
