Mangaluru: Coast Guard celebrates 70th Independence Day

Mangaluru, Aug 15, 2016: Coast Guard Karnataka celebrated 70th Independence Day by an impressive ceremonial parade and playing the National Anthem at its Headquarters at Panambur, Mangalore.  The men on the parade were full of enthusiasm and their white uniforms and shining medals filled the atmosphere with the wave of patriotism and desire to serve the Nation.



 

 Coast Guard Karnataka celebrated 70th Independence Day by an impressive ceremonial parade and playing the National Anthem at its Headquarters at Panambur, Mangalore.


Dy Inspector General KR Suresh, TM, the Commander, Coast Guard Karnataka was the Chief Guest for the parade. While addressing the men, the Commander stated that the historical days like this remind us the extreme sacrifices of our great freedom fighters. We should all work towards the selfless service to the Nation. Anti-national activities as and when noticed should be reported and thwarted.

Similar ceremonial parades were also held at Coast Guard Station Karwar and Coast Guard Aeronautical Overseeing Team, Bangalore, which are functioning under the aegis of Coast Guard Karnataka, Mangalore.

Meanwhile, the Coast Guard ships and crafts are patrolling at sea area off Karnataka for providing seamless safety and security. The efforts of the ships at sea are complemented by the Remote Operating Station, Panambur, which provides electronic surveillance.

On this auspicious occasion, the Additional Director General, K Natarajan, PTM, TM, the Coast Guard Commander (Western Seaboard) conveyed that the challenges on the security front requires the Coast Guard to remain committed and maintain constant vigil. The Commander also directed that all the Coast Guard personnel should rededicate and pull together efforts to set new standards of operational excellence with utmost professionalism, courage and loyalty in the discharge of the duties.
