Mangaluru: City Police Commissioner rewards honest autorickshaw driver

Mangaluru, Aug 26, 2016: City Police Commissioner M Chandrashekar  has rewarded an honest autorickshaw driver who returned valuables worth Rs 5 lakhs left by a passenger in his vehicle.

Prathap Shetty (35), a resident of Jeppu is the honest auto driver. It is said that  Deepthi, a software engineer from Bengaluru had  hired Prathap’s autorickshaw  on August 26 to travel to Kulai from Bejai.  While getting down at Kulai, Deepthi forgot to take along with her the  bag of  valuables worth Rs 5 lakhs. Prathap who noticed the bag of jewels  later on, handed it over to the North Police Station.

 City Police Commissioner Chandra Shekar who acknowledged and appreciated  the honesty of Prathap Shetty and presented him a cash reward of Rs 5000.
