Mangaluru , Nov 12, 2019: Election to the 60 wards of Mangaluru City Corporation limits commenced at 7 am on November 12, Tuesday.
Dakshina Kannada MP and State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel exercised his franchise at the polling booth at St Aloysius English Medium School, while MLA of Mangaluru South Vedavyas Kamath accompanied by his wife Vrinda Kamath voted at the polling booth at Mannagudda Gandhinagar school. Mangaluru North MLA Dr Y Bharath Shetty voted at the polling booth near KPT.
MLC Ivan D’Souza and his wife Dr Kavitha D’Souza exercised their franchise at the polling booth located at Infant Marys School, Jeppu. Former MLA J R Lobo cast his vote at the St Sebastian School.
A total of 180 candidates including 27 independents are in the fray in the elections to the 60 wards. A total of 448 polling booths have been set up. Results will be announced on November 14.
