Mangaluru: Chikkamagaluru man arrested for stealing diamond ring from relative’s house

Mangaluru, Nov 26, 2016 : A person named Younus Ahmed alias Liaqat (36) from Chikkamagaluru  has been arrested on the charges of stealing  diamond and platinum ring worth Rs 14.22 lakhs apart from a cash of Rs 40,000  from the residence of a relative at Lobo Lane, Kadri where he had stayed  overnight recently. The stolen valuables and the cash have been recovered from the accused.

It has been gathered that Younus who had visited his relative’s house recently had slept in the room of the son of the house owner. It was only after he left the next day that the occupants of the house came to know about the missing rings and cash. A complaint was lodged and the police who learnt that a relative had visited, went in search of him to Chikkamagaluru and managed to arrest him after coming to know that he was the culprit.
