Mangaluru : Cattle lifter caught red handed by villagers in Sulia; thrashed black and blue

Mangaluru, June 16, 2015: The locals of Sulia chased down the cattle thieves on Tuesday and caught one thief red handed and prevented a cattle theft bid.

Sources say that four men arrived in Ape rickshaw at night and tried to steal three cows that were wandering around near Kana in Sulia town.

When the thieves were loading it in their rickshaw, the locals noticed the act, started chasing them However, three of them managed to escape.

The locals caught prime accused Murugan, and thrashed him black and blue and later handed him to the police.

Three accused who escaped have been identified as Prabhakar Bandadka, Ummar Pandi and Babu Gandinagar.

A case has been registered at Sullia Police station, Murugan has been remanded to judicial custody after producing before magistrate.
