Mangaluru: Canara Bank organises “CANARA KNOWLEDGE CHAMP” 2019-Quiz competition

Mangaluru, Sep 18, 2019: As a part   of 114 th Foundation day of the Bank ,  Canara Bank, Circle Office, Mangaluru   had organised the “CANARA KNOWLEDGE CHAMP” 2019 -  Quiz competition on 15.09.2019 at T. V. Ramana Pai Convention Centre, Kodialbail, Mangaluru.

 

The event covered the students from VIII to XII standard from the schools of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts and received overwhelming response from 175 schools with more than 350 teams involving around 700 students along with their enthusiastic parents and teachers. 

The function was inaugarated by Dr. Senthil Vel, Dean, College of Fisheries, Mangaluru. Dr.  Prashanth Kumar, BEO Coordinator, Mangaluru  was the Chief Guest  of the event.

The event included a preliminary round for all the participants  followed by  final round for 6 teams of 2 students each.  Master Druhan Shah  and Master Pannaga Bhat from The Learning Centre P U College, Mangaluru were the winners, while Master Jeevith Rai and Master Raghunandan Shenoy from Dr. NSAN P U College, Mangaluru and Master Rakshith Maiya and Master Prabhav Shetty from Little Rock Indian school, Brahamavar emerged as the first and second runners up respectively. The quiz was hosted by the Quiz Master Mrs. Rashmi Futardo from M/s Greycaps India Pvt. Ltd.

The winners  were  awarded  with  trophies  and  certificates by CA Vaman Kamath, Treasurer, Canara High School Association, Mangaluru  along with a cash prize of Rs 50,000/- for the winners and Rs 30,000/- and Rs 20,000/- for the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.

Sri. B. Yogish Acharya, General Manager and Circle Head, Canara Bank, Circle Office, Mangaluru explained  the various products   and services of the Bank to the gathering  and sought their  patronage to the Bank. Sri Bal Mukund Sharma, Deputy General  Manager welcomed the gathering and Mrs. Lynnette Pinto, AGM, proposed the vote of thanks.
