Mangaluru : CCB cops detain ex-Bhajrangdal leader Prasad Attavar in Kalburgi murder case

Mangaluru, Sep 03, 2015: It has been gathered that the CCB police who are investigating into the case of murder of senior scholar Dr MM Kalburgi who was shot dead at his Dharwad residence on August 30, have detained  former district president of Bhajrangdal Prasad Attavar (38) in Mangaluru   on September 3,  Thursday.

 

There is information that he was detained in connection with some objectionable Facebook comments. However, police sources are yet to confirm the news of the arrest of Attavar.

Meanwhile, TV  channels are flashing the news of the arrest of the Hindu leader from Mangaluru in connection with the case.

Prasad Attavar who was the District President of Bhajrangdal for two years,  is also the former convenor of Sri Rama Sene. He was also one of the prime accused in the  infamous pub attack of Mangaluru and was even jailed for a year.
