Mangaluru : CCB cops bust cricket betting racket; arrest 4; seize cash, goods worth Rs. 21.20 lakhs

Mangaluru, May 10, 2015  : CCB cops of Mangaluru have busted a cricket betting racket with the arrest of four persons at Jail Road in the city on May 9, Saturday. A cash of Rs 4.9 lakhs , six cell phones, a laptop, MTS Dongle, a Toyota Innova Car, a Bajaj Pulsar bike and a record book all worth around Rs 21.20 lakhs have been seized from them.

The cops who acted on a tip off arrested the  four who were  busy betting inside a Toyota Innova car on jail road. Those arrested are  Rajesh (32) from Anandnagar in Akashbhavan, Srijith Shetty (27) from PL Compound,  Prashanth (33) from Garodi Edapadavu and Prajith (27) from Shivanagar Pandeshwar.

The arrests were made by CCB Inspector Valentine D’Souza, Circle Inspector Shyamsunder and other personnel as per the directions of S Murugan, City Police Commissioner and Vishnuvardhan, DCP.

The four arrested have been  handed over to the Barke police for further investigation into the case.
