Mangaluru, July 10, 2019: BJP workers under the aegis of the DK District Committee of the party staged a protest in front of the DC office here on July 9, Tuesday demanding the resignation of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy in the backdrop of the Congress-JD(S) coalition government losing its majority.
Addressing the protestors, former MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik said though the 2018 Assembly election results was a clear mandate against the then Siddaramaiah Government, the Congress and the JD(S) had entered into an unholy alliance with the only intention of keeping BJP out of power. The government instead of undertaking developmental projects was looting public money, he alleged.
He also stated that HD Kumaraswamy had no moral right to continue in office as several coalition MLAs have resigned.
Former MLA Yogish Bhat, former MLC Monappa Bhandary, Brijesh Chowta and other party leaders and workers participated in the protest.
