Mangaluru: Activists clash with media, police at Capitanio

Mangaluru, April 26, 2024: A minor altercation occurred outside the Capitanio polling station on Friday involving BJP workers and police while Congress candidate Padmaraj R Poojary addressed the media after voting. Police promptly intervened to disperse the gathering.

Padmaraj, speaking to reporters outside the gate after voting, was interrupted by Sandeep Yekkur, who questioned response times. A police officer on-site intervened, leading to a heated exchange between Sandeep and the officer. Despite attempts by Sandeep’s associates to calm the situation, he remained confrontational, prompting the officer to escort him away with a warning.

Shortly after, another individual from Sandeep’s group engaged in a verbal altercation with the media filming outside the polling station, further escalating tensions.
