Mangaluru: 64th All India Co-operative Week inaugurated

Mangaluru, Nov 15, 2017: Dakshina Kannada has a place of pride in the co-operative sector which has progressed  without any interference, said State Minister for Co-operation Ramesh Jarakiholi.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 64th All India Co-operative Week at the Football Ground of Nehru Maidan on November 15, Wednesday. The  co-operative sector has scope for much more progress when  there is peace and harmony in the society,  the Minister said.

The Sahakara jatha was earlier  inaugurated  by  Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda.  Co-operative  field plays a very important  in  strengthening of the economy,   he said.

 DK District in-charge Minister  B Ramanatha Rai  hoisted the Co-operative  Flag.  Rai said his involvement in the co-operative field was also one reason for his  election as MLA six times, said Rai.

Nandini Healthy Life Lite Double Toned  Milk  and Nandini  ghee in 50 ml and 100 ml pet jars  were  released on the occasion.

The special issue of Co-operative magazine was released by State Minister for  Fisheries, Youth Empowerment and Sports Pramod Madhwaraj.

Shekhar Gowda V Maali Patila, President of Karnataka State Co-operative Union presided over the function.

M N Rajendra Kumar, Chairman of Karnataka State Co-operative Marketing Federation,  Kavitha Sanil, Mayor of Mangaluru, S R Satishchandra, Chairman of CAMPCO, Raviraj Hegde,President of DK Milk Producers’ Union, B H Khader, Cashew Development Corporation Chairman and others were present.

Prior to the function, a colourful procession   featuring several  tableaux depicting the culture of the region was taken out from near the SCDCC Bank office upto Nehru  Maidan.
