Mangaluru : 4 arrested for attacking SDPI leader

Mangaluru, Mar 8, 2015:  Pandeshwar police have arrested four persons on the charges of assaulting Nawaz Ullal, District President of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).


4 arrested for attacking SPDI leaderThe incident took place near the Central Railway Station on March 7, Saturday. It is said, Nawaz was attacked by a few autorickshaw drivers.

Those arrested are Ranjith, Nagesh, Habeeb and Sudhaker. The injured Nawaz has been admitted to the hospital.

Sources said  the autorickshaw drivers assaulted Nawaz after the latter’s Alto car brushed past an autorickshaw  while Nawaz along with  Jaleel Krishnapura, State SDPI committee member was on way to a hospital to  visit a friend who was admitted there. 

As per Nawaz’s complaint, he noticed a few other autorickshaw drivers following his car and they intercepted his vehicle near the railway station, attacked, abused and threatened him. The complainant also stated that there were ten assailants of whom four have been now arrested by Pandeshwar police.
