Mangaluru : 1.5 kg gold seized in 3 separate cases at MIA

Mangaluru, Jan 09, 2020 : In three separate cases,  Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport have seized   1.5 kg of gold which was being smuggled. The value of the seized gold is estimated at Rs 64 lakhs.

 

On January 6, the customs officials had seized  336.7 gram gold valued at Rs 13.43 lakhs from a passenger who arrived by the Air India flight from Dubai. On  July 7, gold  weighing 523 grams and valued at Rs 21.24 lakhs was seized from another passenger who arrived by another Air India flight from Dubai.

In the third case, 716 grams gold was seized from a passenger. The value of the seized gold is Rs 29.06 lakhs.
