Mangalurean nabbed in Mumbai robbery case ; Rs 5 cr worth ruby, diamond studded pendant seized

Mangaluru, Aug 11, 2016: A  golden pendant studded with ruby and diamond  worth Rs 5 crore have been recovered from a person arrested by the CCB police here, with regard to a  kidnapping and looting of a businessman that was reported from Mumbai in the month of July. Police  also seized  an Alto car and  a mobile phone belonging to the accused.

The arrested person has been identified as KS Yunus (42) of Bikarnakatte.  He had reportedly stolen the golden pendant studded with ruby and diamonds belonging to the businessman.

The arrest was made after the CCB gathered hints that the accused and one Talat would  meet in an Alto car close by an under construction building at Bikarnakatte with an intention of selling off the  stolen pendant. Though the CCB cops managed to arrest Yunus and seize the pendant, Talat  gave the cops a slip.

 It has been gathered that Yunus along with Talat of Bajal and some others namely  Naseer Ahmed Khan of Mumbai, Likhit Gopal Shetty, Fakir Mohammad alias Shameer Sheikh, Gautam Anant Kadam, Prateek Alok Moyithi, and Shameer alias Hasan Khan were involved in the  kidnapping. Bandra Kurla Complex police had registered a case.
