Mangalore plane crash compensation – 116 cases fully settled

Mangalore, April 28, 2012 Mulla & Mulla, the legal representative of Air India, has settled a total of 147 cases so far and has distributed a total amount of Rs. 107.35 crore as compensation.

air crash 1Of these settled cases, 116 have been settled completely, 6 cases have been settled partially, and 25 cases have been settled as per the judgment of the division bench of the Kerala High Court.

The compensations are being paid with regard to the plane crash at Mangalore Airport on May 22, 2010, which killed 158 people.

Air India Express Finance Chief Kapil Aseri said that, during the recent meeting, nine cases were settled in all, of which five were fully settled and four according to the judgment of the division bench of Kerala High Court.

Hoshang D. Nanavati of Mulla & Mulla said that they will come to Mangalore once more to settle the 13 pending cases. So far, the firm has held 14 meetings with victims’ families.
