Mangalore University warns of ’agents’ and cheating

Mangaluru, July 19,2015 : Mangalore University has warned students, parents, temporary staff, and employees working on contract to be wary of touts.  Notices about the same have been put up at the administrative block of Mangalore University after it came to light that certain elements are extorting money from people by promising jobs.


Mangalore UniversityThe VC was informed that some people working with Mangalore University are extorting money by misusing the name of the vice-chancellor with job offers or promises of permanent posts in the university for those working on temporary posts. Any such incident should be brought to the notice of the VC (call 2287347) or Konaje police, the notice signed by the VC stated.

Although the notice is specific about some people working with Mangalore University, the authorities said that no cases have been registered. University vice-chancellor K Byrappa said there are rumours about such touts, and the notices have been put to alert people.

Some people are trying to extort money, specific cases are being looked at. The notice has been put up to warn people not to fall prey to such instances. Similar instances were reported in Mysuru University too.  The  application processes are online and there is no chance of misuse it was said.
