Mangalore, April 6: The Mangalore police have busted a sex racket at an apartment in Urwa Stores.

The owner of the raided apartment is Nathu Patel, a timber merchant of Tamil Nadu, who had placed the apartment in charge of Sukesh Poonja of Boliyar, one of his employees.

Acting on a tip off that the apartment was being used for prostitution, a team of policemen led by Ravindra Gadadi, the assistant commissioner of police, raided the place on April 5, Tuesday in the afternoon, posing as customers.

Once they confirmed that the tip off they received was true, they arrested Sukesh, who was functioning as a middle man, and 3 sex workers—Sony (25), Sandhya (37), and Jyothi (28).  The Urwa Police have registered a case.
