Mangalore One employees stage protest against denial of minimum wages

Mangaluru, July 20, 2018: Employees of Mangalore One, under the aegis of INTUC staged a demonstration in front of the MCC office on July 20, Friday  to condemn the termination of the services of six women employees and for denying minimum wages to the employees.  The Women employees were terminated for  protesting against denial of minimum wages

Speaking on the occasion, INTUC legal advisor Dinaker Shetty said the CMS  which appoints staff to Mangalore  One  was supposed to pay Rs 13,500 being the minimum wages fixed by the government. However,  it was paying only Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000, he added.

MLC Ivan D’Souza also addressed the protestors.

State Minister for Housing and Urban Development  U T Khader met the agitators and assured to take up the issue with the government. He also promised to speak to the Andhra based CMS company and  request it to reinstate the terminated employees.  He said he will also ask the DC to submit a report.

INTUC President Rakesh Malli and several others participated in the protest.
