Mangalore Mayor election on March 13

Mangalore,Mar 5, 2014 : The long awaited elections to the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Mangalore City Corporation will be held on March 13 at 10.30 am. Apart from Mayor and Deputy Mayor, even the presidents and members of Standing Committees will be elected on the occasion.

Regional Commissioner of Mysore Division will be the polling officer. The elections will be held at the Mangala Auditorium of MCC.

Already political activities have gained momentum in the party and there is information that several are in the rat race for the top posts.

The post of mayor has been reserved for a general category candidate and that of the deputy mayor to a general category lady candidate by the High Court in its ruling recently.
