While the department stalls will be exhibited for 12 days, exhibitions by event managers will be open for 30 days. Along with the exhibition, each department will get an opportunity to observe one day as the particular department’s day. The total expenditure for 12 days is estimated at Rs 40 lakh.

In order to promote the art and culture of coastal region, platform will be provided to perform traditional folk arts, rural games, exhibition of traditional food etc. District and state-level artistes will showcase their expertise, unlike in previous years, when local artistes used to perform on the main stage. Food fest will be organised, where people from different regions and states will exhibit the typical food of that particular region.

Chairing the meeting, District-in-Charge Minister directed to involve nationalised banks and public sector companies in Karavali Utsav by allowing them to open their stalls in the exhibition.

A grand procession should be arranged at Nehru Maidan as a part of the festival, he said. However, he negated the idea of organising taluk-level Karavali Utsav as it will be an additional expenditure and does not serve the purpose. The public is in for a new experience.
