Mangalore, July 12, 2013: ZP CEO Dr K N Vijayaprakash inaugurated the Indian Overseas Bank branch at Rameshwara Arcade, Urvastores, Kottara on July 12, Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said banks must give topmost priority to customer service. He also stressed the need for banks to open branches in rural areas.
M Narendra, Chairman and Managing Director of IOB said the Bank plans to open more branches in the state. He said at present the Bank had 57 branches in six districts and was moving towards the target of 100 branches.
He said the bank at present has a staff strength of 11,000 and added it plans to recruit 4000 youth soon. Continuing, he said in line with the Bank’s policy to give importance to women, it has over 7000 women staff.
Stating that jobs in banking sector were much in demand compared to IT, BT sector, Narendra expressed his happiness over the fact that more youth are appearing for bank recruitment exams in the recent times.
Regional Manager Sudhakaran and others were present. IOB will also be opening another branch at Kankanady.
