Mangalore, Jan 19, 2014: The annual Award ceremony of the Bharath Scouts and Guides was held at the official residence of Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim who is also the District Chairman of Bharath Scouts and Guides on January 19, Sunday.
The Deputy Commissioner honoured as many as 800 Scouts, Guides, Cubs and Bulbuls, Rovers and Rangers from various schools across the district for their outstanding achievements during the year 2013-14.
The Deputy Commissioner who spoke on the occasion, commended the achievements of the District unit of Scouts and Guides and urged parents to encourage their children to be part of Scouts and Guides.
BSG district chief commissioner NG Mohan suggested that Scouts and Guides activities be made mandatory in schools.
Cultural programmes were presented by students of Government PU College, Bantwal and Ramakrishna High School, Harekala.
