Mangalore: Body of 16yr old girl found in Phalguni river; suicide suspected

Mangalore, July 9, 2014: A 16 year old  girl was found dead in the  Phalguni River at Gurupur  on July 9, Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Mallika (16), daughter of Padmanna of Chilimbigudde in Gurupur.  It is suspected that she committed suicide.

 

It is learnt, she had come to the bridge area on Wednesday morning by an autorickshaw and later jumped into the river.

Though the exact reason for her suicide is not known, it is learnt, she had discontinued studies recently.  She was the youngest of the four children of Padmanna.
